Physicians Regional Healthcare System and Jersey College have collaborated to establish a School of Nursing on their hospital campuses, serving the Collier County region.

The Jersey College Professional Nursing Program at Physicians Regional Medical Center is a six-semester program, culminating in an Associate of Science degree in nursing, providing its graduates with opportunities to become a registered nurse. The program's first group of students began in January and Jersey College is currently enrolling for the next class scheduled to begin in May.

“Today's healthcare environment continues to present new challenges and complexities especially for nurses and the care they strive to provide,” said Greg Karzhevsky, Chancellor of Jersey College. “The collaborative and innovative efforts of Jersey College, Physicians Regional Medical Center, and their parent Community Health Systems will bring more nurses to Collier County that are well-trained and prepared to meet the needs of this area.”

With more than 10,000 square feet of classroom and office space, the Naples program combines the teaching experience of a college and the clinical expertise of a hospital. This hospital‐based track offers students the ability to learn the art and science of nursing from within a hospital setting. Students are able to experience a seamless transition from classroom theory to clinical application.
