RN Program Admissions

To be considered for entrance into Jersey College's Professional Nursing (RN) Program, applicants must meet minimum requirements.

Our faculty has crafted these standards to ensure prospective applicants are equipped to successfully complete the program. We are dedicated to educating professionals who embody the essence of nursing and will provide the healthcare field with positive and competent skill sets.

RN Generic and Nurse Residency (Hospital-Based) Track - Admission Process & Requirements

In order to be considered for admission into the generic track or the hospital-based track of the Professional Nursing program applicants must meet minimum skill levels in verbal and math as demonstrated through ACT, SAT or other college approved diagnostic testing examinations. A minimum ACT composite score of 19, minimum SAT critical reading and mathematics reasoning (CR-M) score of 930, or a minimum combined score of 165 in reading and mathematics (with a minimum of 80 on the reading section) on the college’s approved diagnostic testing evaluation instrument.

LPN to RN Bridge Track - Admission Process & Requirements

Applicants seeking admission into the LPN to RN Bridge track of the Professional Nursing program must:

  • Demonstrate initial eligibility for the program by completing certain prerequisites (general education and nursing support courses). with a minimum grade of 75%.
  • Provide proof of a current, active, unencumbered LPN license both at the time of initial enrollment and prior to the start of Level II of the LPN to RN Track of the Professional Nursing program. 1,2
  • Submit an official copy of their Practical Nursing transcript.3

[1] Graduates of any of Jersey College's Practical Nursing programs may enroll in the prerequisites prior to obtaining their practical nursing license. However, in order to be eligible for enrollment in the Professional Nursing program such graduates must obtain their LPN license.

[2] For Florida campuses, students must have an unencumbered practical nursing license from the State of Florida; for New Jersey campuses, students must have an unencumbered LPN license from the States of New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut or Delaware

[3] An unofficial copy of a transcript and/or an official notification from a state agency that the applicant has graduated from an approved/accredited Practical Nursing program may be utilized in lieu of an official transcript in limited circumstances. Such use is at the sole discretion of Jersey College.
