Nursing Education Choices for Healthcare Careers

Nursing is considered one of the most demanding and difficult career choices, but it’s also one of the most rewarding.  The choices you make for your nursing education will be important to the rest of your professional life, so it’s important to consider all the options thoroughly.

If you’re just beginning your nursing education, you’ll want to be sure that you select the best nursing program and school to match your nursing education goals.  Are there flexible start dates? Do you receive credit for work experience?  Are schedules such that you can accommodate work, family and school simultaneously?  Have you met all the prerequisites for the nursing program you hope to join?

What Are the Requirements for Nursing Education Programs?

Different institutions often have different requirements, so you’ll want to be informed and prepared for the prerequisites involved in whichever nursing programs you’re considering.

If you have any questions about the nursing programs at Jersey College, don’t hesitate to contact an admissions officer at the campus nearest you.

We also recommend that you evaluate the staff and networking opportunities at the schools you are interested in.  Will you be able to do clinical work offsite?  Are the instructors workers (or former workers) in healthcare?  Are there laboratories for new nursing students to practice patient care?  Is there a student services department to help with the transition into the workplace?

Asking these types of questions about the institutions you're evaluating will help to ensure that you really get the most out of your nursing education.

Making a Great Nursing Education Choice!

Making the right decisions during this process can feel overwhelming, but there are always people to help you along the way! If you would like more information about any of the above criteria at Jersey College, give us a call today and talk to one of our admissions officers!
