LPN Entrance Exam

Admission into the LPN Program at Jersey College requires a minimum proficiency on our Entrance Exam. Scoring on this exam determines your entering skill level and allows the school to place you appropriately.

2. Mail, fax, or bring in your completed registration form.

3. Pay in person at your campus with cash, credit card, or money order.

About the Entrance Exam

The Entrance Exam consists of both math and reading comprehension questions.

The Math skills section of the exam covers topics such as measurement conversions, decimals, military time, algebra, whole numbers, percentages, word problems, fractions and roman numerals.

  • The math portion of the test is 90 minutes long and includes approximately 55 questions. 

The Reading Comprehension section of the exam covers topics such as inferential reading, reading rate, main ideas of passage, reading rate placement, critical thinking, and predicting of outcomes.

  • The reading comprehension portion of the test is 90 minutes long and includes approximately 55 questions

Other Information

  • The exam takes approximately three hours
  • Testers are usually able to receive their results the same day
  • The cost for the Entrance Exam may vary by campus. The fee  is non-refundable and must be paid in full upon registration
  • Photo identification is required on the day of the exam
  • Notes, books, scratch paper, or aids (computer or language based) are not permitted in the Testing Center
  • Talking to anyone other than proctors during the  exam is not permitted
  • Testers will receive scrap paper to use for the Math section. All scrap paper must remain in the Testing Center even when the exam is completed
  • Study guides are available. You may purchase one from Jersey College for $25 or purchase your own.
